Downpour Leads to a PSNK Slip Up Against Mt. Aloysius, 6-0
The Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer team (5-2) fell to non-conference, NCAA Division-III opponent Mt. Aloysius (2-7) in monsoon like conditions at Valley High school on Thursday afternoon. The wet field conditions made it difficult for both teams to play the ball cleanly and led to numerous opportunities for the visiting Mounties.
Penn State New Kensington was only able to put together four shots in 70 minutes of play, while two of them had a chance to go in, they were both stopped by Mt. Aloysius goalkeeper, Jamie Greenwood. The Lions freshman keeper, Jimmy Cook, made six saves on the afternoon while facing 13 shots on goal.
The game was called after 70 minutes of play due to heavy rain at Valley High School.
The New Ken Lions will be back in action on Saturday, September 29th against PSUAC opponent Penn State Brandywine. Match time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
