PSNK Men's Soccer Blanks Penn State Brandywine, Stay Perfect in PSUAC
The Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer team (6-2, 6-0) was able to pick up another PSUAC victory against Penn State Brandywine (3-6, 3-2) on Saturday, September 29th at Valley High School.
PSNK got the scoring started midway through the first half when Adam Bombalski scored off of a J.D. DeMarco free kick in the 27th minute. DeMarco's free kick found its way deep into the Brandywine box and was headed towards goal by Ashutosh Pandey. Brandywine's goalie, Nick Previti, was able to make the initial save, but Bombalski was there to bury the loose ball for the game's first goal.
The score remained 1-0 through halftime until New Kensington's Tyler Lloyd scored in the 59th minute to give the game its final score of 2-0.
Freshman Goalkeeper for the New Ken Lions, Jimmy Cook, was able to record his third shutout in eight games and up his record to 6-2 on the year. Cook faced a number of shots and was able to make 10 saves on the afternoon. Perry Sciulli also had a defensive save for PSNK.
The New Ken Lions will be back in action on Wednesday, October 3rd when they travel to Westmoreland County Community College. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
