Mack Tapped as Head Men’s Basketball Coach

New Kensington, Pa. – Brant Mack has been named as the new head men's basketball coach at Penn State New Kensington after serving as the Lion's assistant coach for the last three seasons. Mack replaces Art McCray who resigned to take on a position as an enrollment specialist at the campus.

"It is an honor to be named the head men's basketball coach at Penn State University New Kensington," said Mack. "I would like to thank Director of Athletics, Megan Bratkovich, and Chancellor, Dr. Kevin Snider for trusting me to lead our student-athletes both on and off the court to make Penn State New Kensington, the community, and our alumni proud."

 Mack has been integral part of the New Kensington coaching staff that developed USCAA All-American Dorian Broadwater as well as three PSUAC all-Conference performers over the last three years. In his role, he assisted in all aspects of the program including practice and game preparation, player development, recruiting, and scouting.

"Brant has proven himself to be extremely hard-working and dedicated to the student-athletes at New Kensington," said Bratkovich. "I'm excited to have him as our head coach not only for the consistency that it has provided our players, but also for the energy that he brings to the gym each and every day."

Prior to his time at New Kensington, Mack coached for For Sports AAU in Washington, Pa., from 2006 to 2012. There, his teams were national qualifiers in six out of seven seasons, and Mack was named the Coach of the Year in 2012.  He also spent two seasons as an assistant boys' basketball coach at Avella High School.

Mack played college ball for NCAA Division I Loyola University from 1997 to 2001 where he was a captain and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from Loyola before going on to receive his master's degree in Mass Communications from Point Part University.
