New Kensington Battles but Comes Up Short Against Fayette
New Kensington Falls to Fayette, 73–65
New Kensington, Pa. – Penn State New Kensington battled throughout but fell to Penn State Fayette, 73–65, on February 12 in conference action.
New Kensington trailed by five at halftime, 35–30, and remained within striking distance for much of the second half. Despite several strong individual performances, the hosts were unable to overcome Fayette's efficient shooting night.
Jadyn Benson led New Kensington with 21 points, adding 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals in an all-around effort. Keith Rockmore Jr. contributed 14 points, connecting on three three-pointers, while Shane Peters added 13 points and eight rebounds inside.
New Kensington finished with a 33–31 rebounding edge and dished out 17 assists as a team. However, Fayette shot 50 percent from the field and knocked down eight three-pointers, proving to be the difference.
