New Kensington Falls to Schuylkill at Home, 65–37
NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — December 5, 2025 — Penn State New Kensington women's basketball dropped a home contest Friday evening, falling 65–37 to visiting Penn State Schuylkill at the Athletics Center.
New Kensington battled throughout but struggled to find an offensive rhythm, shooting 22.8% from the floor. Junior guard Jayde Rivera led the Lions with 15 points, adding five rebounds while playing 39 minutes. Senior Tori Johnson reached double figures as well, finishing with 13 points, six rebounds, and six assists, including three made three-pointers.
Forward Samara Ayodele provided a spark off the bench with 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 17 minutes of action. Kendra Butler, Janel Montgomery, and Antonia Velasquez each added valuable minutes in the starting lineup, combining for 13 rebounds.
Schuylkill used strong shooting and second-chance opportunities to build its lead, finishing the night at 38.6% from the field while holding a 45–33 advantage on the boards. The visitors were led by Ava Novak with 22 points and Serena Jones with 18.
New Kensington returns to action next week as the Lions continue PSUAC play.
