New Kensington Women Earn Road Win at Greater Allegheny, 59–43

Penn State New Kensington picked up a road victory Tuesday evening, defeating Penn State Greater Allegheny 59–43 in women's basketball action on Greater Allegheny's campus.
Jayde Rivera led all scorers with a game-high 30 points, connecting on 10-of-25 shooting and knocking down five three-pointers to pace the Lions. Rivera also added three assists and three steals while playing 38 minutes.
New Kensington leaned on its defensive effort throughout the contest, holding Greater Allegheny to 29.8 percent shooting from the field and forcing 18 turnovers. The Lions also controlled the rebounding battle, 36–40, limiting second-chance opportunities despite a physical interior presence from the hosts.
Tori Johnson contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, while Antonia Velasquez added six points and four rebounds. Off the bench, Samara Ayodele provided a spark with four points and three rebounds in 10 minutes.
Greater Allegheny was led by Tori Carr, who finished with 23 points, and Peyton Smith, who recorded a 19-point, 21-rebound performance. Despite the effort, the hosts struggled at the free-throw line, shooting 27.8 percent, and were unable to close the gap.
The road win caps a successful doubleheader night for Penn State New Kensington as the Lions continued conference play.
