Johnson Hits Five Threes in Road Contest at Beaver

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Penn State New Kensington women's basketball suffered a road setback Tuesday night, falling 111–51 to Penn State Beaver in PSUAC play.
Beaver used a strong second quarter to seize control of the game, outscoring the Lions 42–10 to take a 66–22 halftime advantage. New Kensington continued to compete through all four quarters but was unable to slow Beaver's perimeter shooting and depth.
Tori Johnson led New Kensington with a standout performance, scoring a team-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. She also added five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block.
Jayde Rivera contributed 14 points and a team-high five assists, while Samara Ayodele added six points off the bench. Janel Montgomery and Antonia Velasquez each chipped in four points, with Montgomery also pulling down six rebounds.
As a team, New Kensington shot 40.8 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from three-point range but committed 33 turnovers, which Beaver converted into consistent scoring opportunities.
Penn State Beaver was paced by Claudia Siegfried, who scored a game-high 30 points, knocking down 10 three-pointers. Beaver finished the night shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 48.3 percent from beyond the arc, with balanced contributions throughout the lineup.
